Well Child Care & Vaccinations
How often should I schedule my child’s well visit?
In the first two years of life, infants and toddlers need to be seen frequently. This allows our providers to identify delays in growth and development and allow for early interventions. Typically, we schedule preventative visits at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 months. After 2 years of age, we recommend parents schedule a well-child exam once a year.
What can I expect at these visits?
At these visits, our providers can evaluate your child for nutritional, behavioral, growth and development issues. Sick visits do not typically allow us to thoroughly evaluate the total well-being of your child. Well child visits give the parents and the child a lengthy time to discuss issues with peers, substance use, risky behaviors, depression, and obesity. Recommended vaccines are administered at this time.
What vaccinations are recommended?
We strongly believe that vaccinations save lives. We recommend vaccinations based on the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC.
